Apple Launches 1.6m headset.

Apple Launches Mixed Reality Headset 'Vision Pro,' Worth 1.6m.

The first-ever mixed reality headset from Apple, Vision Pro, was launched on Monday. It competes with Meta, which is owned by Facebook.

Since the company's 2015 unveiling of the Apple Watch, the release was the most major product launch by the iPhone manufacturer.

The business announced that the Vision Pro, which was generally warmly received on Monday, will cost a pricey $3,499 (N1.617 million) and be available early next year in the United States alone.

“There are certain products that shift the way we look at technology and the role it plays in our lives,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook as he unveiled the sleek VR device that resembled ski goggles.

The headgear, which Apple referred to as a "spatial computer," was unveiled at the conclusion of a Cupertino, California event where the company unveiled a wide range of new products.

The gadget, which Apple has been working on for years, would concentrate on gaming, streaming video, and conferencing.

The gadget has a glass front, an aluminum frame, 12 cameras, 5 sensors, and displays for each eye in addition to a computer that is fan-cooled.

Vision Pro, which is smaller than a scuba diving mask, will mostly operate while plugged into the wall in an obvious effort to maintain a more streamlined appearance than bulkier headsets.

The maximum operating time of a pocket-sized battery pack with a cable would be two hours.
