Mohammed Al-Jadaan

Saudi Arabia is willing to make investiment in Iran "very soon," according to the finance minister.

Last Friday, Saudi Arabia and Iran decided to reestablish diplomatic relations, and their respective embassies will reopen in two months.

When Al-Jadaan was questioned about the timing of Saudi Arabia's ability to begin making "significant" investments in Iran at the Financial Sector Conference in Riyadh.

He responded, "I would say quickly," later adding, "Our aim is to have a region that is stable, capable of providing for its people, and prosper, and there is no reason for that not to happen, Iran is our neighbor and has been and will continue to be for hundreds of years."

“There are a lot of opportunities in Iran, and we provide a lot of opportunities, as long as goodwill continues,” Al-Jadaan said.

The finance minister continued by saying there is no reason the nations' relationship cannot "normalize" as long as both parties "stick to agreements" regarding autonomy and non-interference.

“I don’t see any impediments,” Al-Jadaan added.
